About BunnyHoopStar
BunnyHoopStar is the Director of Hoop Empire. She is a multimedia artist, hoop teacher, and founding member of The Hoopaholics hoop troupe. She has been hooping for over a decade and now performs and teaches in Australia and throughout the world. Drawing inspiration from both the Circus Arts and from the US 'Hoop Dance' scene, Bunny merges the two influences into a unique 'hybrid' hooping style.
Her training includes classic circus hoop technique, American Hoop Dance, Nia Technique /Spirited Movement, Yoga and self-directed dance land groove. With an emphasis on movement and flow her classes range from learning the basics of how to spin a hoop or two... or three or four... to more advanced Hoop Dance moves. She has been teaching the hoopla to both adults and children over the past six years and is accredited with the Australian Sports Commission. Her current passion is combing the Mayan Dreamspell Calendar and shamanic Dreaming practices with hoop dance. She explores this mostly on her frequent journeys in Bali.
About Deanne Love
Deanne's desire to connect people through dance, music and fun fueled the creation of HOOPLOVERS in 2007. Deanne's mission is to inspire global beings to find their true potential through movement and self-expression via the all encompassing benefits of hoop dance.
Since 2011, Deanne has lived in Melbourne, Australia and currently teaches weekly Hoop Dance classes in Melbourne, including active and creative lessons for adults and children. She has taught in schools and dance studios both in Australia and Japan and brings her passion for international education and life long learning to every class she is engaged in. Deanne regularly performs Hoop Dance shows for corporate and private parties as well as kid's events and a variety of celebrations. She has traveled the world sharing her individual style of hoop love and performed on stages in Sydney, Thailand and Tokyo.
What is Hoop Journey?
Hoop Journey is a dedicated space to explore your current hoop project. It is expansive, focused, clear, shared, supported and documented.
What will be included in the course content?

Is this a Teacher Training Program?
Yes if you want it to be AND no, not exclusively. It can be if developing a class or series of classes is your project. Bunny and Deanne have both been teaching for 5 + years so are there to guide you and share their skills, insights, experience and resources.
Hoop Journey has been developed to go above and beyond the Teacher Training programs Bunny and Deanne have previously been sharing with hoopers around the world.
Is this a Performance Boot Camp that is going to launch or develop me as a performer?
If you want it to be! Again, Bunny + Deanne have been spinning as performers for 5+ years and have got a few industry secrets that they would like to share with you.
Can I make a really RAD hoop or bunch of hoops at Hoop Journey?
Yes! No Hoop Journey weekend is complete without crafternoon in the hoop factory. We will have an onsite hoop factory at your disposal around the clock.
What is the Hoop Journey Photo Booth?
This is your opportunity to rock out a photoshoot of your choice. Part of the weekend will be about exploring character in hooping so we have invited a super star photographer to make magic with us and our collection of awesome costumes.
Will I need to bring a costume?
We are both BYO and FULLY LICENSED in the costume department. There will be a costume zone onsite and open throughout the weekend. You also might like to choose to create a costume over the weekend as part of your Hoop Project.
What about video?
If you would like to have your costumed performance filmed we will be dedicating a blinged up time and space to get your hoop on and really rock it out in front of green screen backgrounds that will then be TOTALLY PIMPD OUT with superimposed backgrounds in post production. Footage will be available after post production for you to use as you like.
